Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What versions of browsers are supported for optimal webpage usage?
A: Internet Explorer (IE) 9 or above, Mozilla Firefox, and Chrome. We are currently working on optimizing Safari.
Q: How do I customize the graph layouts?
A: In the legend of each graph, you will find check boxes that you are able to select or de-select in order to add/remove various aspects of the graph to optimize the level of detail within each graph.
Q: How can I learn more about what exactly the indicator is tracking?
A: Above the graph there is a "More Information" tab that, if you clicked, you will bring up a brief description as to why it is important to track this indicator, a short review about how the indicator at that level in the community has changed over time, and the direct link to the source. The underlined portion in the "Why is This Important" section shows the exact definition of the indicator so it can be easily accessible at a glance.
Q: How can I easily transfer a graph to a presentation or text document?
A: Above the right hand side of the graph you will see an icon with a downward pointing arrow. If you click on this icon you will be given the option to download the graph either as a PNG, JPEG, SVG, or PDF file. This will include all aspects of the graph you currently have selected to be displayed; those deselected will not be shown on the new file.
Q: How do I print a graph of a particular indicator?
A: Above the graph on the right-hand side there is an icon of a printer. Clicking this icon will print an enlarged version of the graph you currently have on display. This will include the title, graph, and the legend.
Q: How can I gain access to the actual data or look at any numbers associated with an indicator that offer a greater level of detail than the graph?
A: Above the right-hand side of the graph, find the "Download Data" tab. By clicking on this tab, you will have the option to download the Excel database as a .CSV file. Often times there are more data available that aren't easily displayed with a particular indicator, and in these cases we include it as "bonus data" that can be downloaded for users who like even more detail. Additionally, in the "More Information" section for each indicator, there is a hyperlink that will take you directly to the data source.
